Geek Time at PPL
Are you in need of some Geek Time?  Are books and classes just not doing the trick?  Schedule a time to meet one on one with a Geek for FREE.  Bring your specific questions and devices- we'll do our best to help you understand technology.  Contact Rob in the Computer Room or give him a call at 936-2324 ext. 122

The library has two computer labs, one on the main floor, and one in the basement.   

The main floor lab has 14 computers with Internet access. There are 2 computers with Internet and word processing software, reserved for students doing homework or online classes. Two scanners are available for public use. Each computer is connected to a black and white laser printer and a color laser printer. Printing is 10˘ per page for black and white and 50˘ for color.

Our basement Gates Learning Lab was added in July of 2001 and features sixteen computers and one trainer's station.  Photos and more information about the Gates Lab may be found here Please read our policy regarding computers and Internet use at PPL. 

Limitations and Disclaimers

The Plymouth Public Library’s network is not secure. Information sent from or to your
laptop can be captured from anyone with a wireless device and the appropriate software, within three hundred feet. Library staff are not able to provide technical assistance and no guarantee can be provided that you will be able to make a wireless connection. The Library assumes no responsibility for the safety of equipment or for
laptop configurations, security, or data files resulting from connection to the Library’s
network.

There are several other computers available in the main library area for specific research (INSPIRE, library catalog, etc.). The children's area currently has 6 computers with educational programs and games and 1 adult computer to be used by parents who have their children with them.  Because of copyright laws, we cannot allow patrons to install personal programs on our computers.

Please note: While the computer staff at PPL are happy to try to assist patrons with most computer questions, we are not a repair service or computer consulting company. Please consult the local yellow pages for a computer service and repair business for assistance in repairs or problems with personal computer equipment.
