Library Card

If you live or own property in the City of Plymouth, or the Townships of Center or West in Marshall County, you are eligible for a free library card at the Plymouth Public Library!

Reciprocal Borrowing - Reciprocal borrowing agreements have been signed with the Argos, Bourbon, Bremen, Culver, Fulton County, Mishawaka-Penn, St. Joseph County, Starke County, and Walkerton Public Libraries. Plymouth Public Library patrons may visit these libraries, apply for one of their cards and then check out their materials.  Patrons of the other libraries may also check out PPL materials after receiving one of our cards.

PLAC - Although not required, patrons choosing to purchase a PLAC (Public Library Access Card) may use it to receive a free card at any Indiana library.  The current PLAC fee is $65.  PLACs may be purchased from any Indiana library and are good for 365 days from the date of purchase.

Non-Resident Cards - Libraries are a pre-paid service through taxes.  Center and West Township residents pay a library tax to PPL for service.  People living outside of these townships are welcome to join our library for service, but will need to pay to support the library for service as well.

North Township will pay ½ the cost of one card per household.  The first member of a North Township household will be responsible for the other half.  All other members of the household will have to pay the full price of the non-resident card – which is $66.00 for a year.  Non-resident cards are prorated each month and decrease in price by $5.50/month.

Polk Township will pay for one card per household.  All other members of the household will have to pay the full price of the non-resident card – which is $66.00 for a year.  Non-resident cards are prorated each month and decrease in price by $5.50/month.

Any student attending, or teacher employed, in a Center or West Township school (Plymouth Community Schools, Crossroads Academy, Grace Baptist, etc.) is eligible for a FREE library card.  No matter where the student/teacher lives, if they attend or are employed at a school in our service area, they are eligible for a free PPL library card.

For more information, or to apply for a card, ask at either the adult or children's circulation desks.

Library Account

You must use your library card by presenting it when you are checking out items, renewing an item, or placing a hold on an item. You can also do some of that on your own by accessing your account online. Your account is already set up when you first get your card, just use the name and number on your card. Use the "My Account" link on the right to access your account.
